IT STARTED WHEN...
I learned, at the table in the cramped kitchen of my Grandma Bacci, about the power of feeding others. I am like so many whose love of sharing food began as a child. My continued inspiration still grows from Grandma's endless giving and nurturing through her menus. I would stand on a chair with the ladder back pushed to the counter and my little sleeves rolled up by her floured hands. Homemade Bread. Cookies. Pizza. The half grapefruit carefully cut for Grandpa's breakfast one section at a time. Hand rolled pie dough for apple pie of course and her mesmerizing gift of pealing apples with a paring knife. Fat carefully trimmed off the edge of pork chops then slowly rendered to a dark brown, salted and hidden in the cupboard for Grandpa to have first dibs. And of course her raviolis.
I am a food obsessed, angler, micro [produce & chicken] farmer, wine lover & forever young woman... living on the NORTHcoast of Ohio where I was born and raised.
